China-Arab States Expo to take place in Yinchuan

Beijing, China: The third Expo between China and Arab states will be held in Yinchuan, China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from September 6-9.

China-Arab States Expo was officially announced on Friday in Beijing with the event being supported by the Ministry of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the government of Ningxia.
Deputy Governor of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Mr Wang Heshan said at the press conference on Friday that the Expo will focus on trade in goods, services and technology along with tourism cooperation.
“We will build the Expo into an open cooperation platform for promoting the Belt and Road Initiative,” he said.
This Expo is not only targeting Arab states, but also Southeast Asian countries, African countries, Central Asian countries and Northeast Asian countries along the Belt and Road.
Guests from China and Arab states will be invited to deliver speeches at the opening ceremony and business delegates will also be invited to discuss topics like Belt and Road development and infrastructure construction.
Deputy Minister of Ministry of Commerce Mr Qian Keming said the China-Arab States Expo was an important platform for China and Arab countries to jointly build the Belt and Road.
China and Arab countries are vital economic and trade cooperation partners to each other, enjoying stable friendship and China has been the second largest partner and an important crude oil export market for Arab countries.
Mr Qian added that last year, China-Arab trade volume totalled US$171.1 billion, a decrease of 15.6 percent compared to the previous year while the value of newly signed project contract agreements stood at about US$40.3 billion, up by 40.8 percent.
The past two sessions of the China-Arab States Expo have seen the signing of 321 agreements. The cooperation projects involved fields like technology, finance, energy, agriculture, health, tourism, culture and education.
