Building expo welcomes new forays into expanding construction market

More foreign companies from China, Singapore and other Asean countries are seeking Lao dealers and distributors for housing and innovative engineering goods as part of their ambitious plan to reach out to Lao buyers.

More than 100 companies from over 10 countries are taking part in the three-day exhibition, entitled Laos International Building and Construction Exhibition (LaoBuild’17), held in Vientiane from June 15-17.
Export Technical Support Engineer at Climaveneta Chatunion Refrigeration Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd Ms Lexis Sun told Vientiane

Times on Thursday the company was looking for local dealers or distributors in Laos.
“It isn’t easy to set a high expectation for a good reaction from local people during or after the exhibition because we are here for the first time and it is difficult to find market information in Laos,” she said.
“Currently we have representative offices in various Asean countries but no one knows if Laos could well be our next branch in the future.”
Climaveneta has expertise in the development of efficient units for air conditioning and heating.
It is also aware that technological systems are amongst the most crucial elements in modern buildings and urban design.
Meanwhile, Foundation Associates Engineering Pte Ltd is selling a Singaporean-made hydraulic vibratory hammer that is used for mega construction projects.
“Our company is looking for Lao buyers but we are not sure about establishing a branch and directly import our products from Singapore,” Regional Manager for Foundation Associates Engineering Pte Ltd, Mr Jacky Ser said.
Eco Saving Company Limited, a company based in Taiwan specialising in green building technologies is also taking part in the exhibition in a bid to demonstrate its strengths in energy and water-saving solutions.
Exhibitors from China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan are not only expected to showcase their products and services at the LaoBuild’17 but build valuable business connections with local distributors in Laos.
At the same event, many Lao companies are also taking part in showcasing their innovative and creative inventions, engineering and technological products for domestic and export market.
