VJC targets 54% revenue growth in 2017

Vietjet is targeting revenue of more than VND42 trillion (US$1.84 billion) in 2017, a surge of 53 per cent year-on-year.

 

Vietjet also aims to earn VND3.39 trillion in after-tax profit, 36 per cent higher than last year’s figure, according to the airline’s business plan, approved at its shareholders meeting today in HCM City.

The airline is set to pay 10 per cent dividend in cash on May 10. It will also pay bonus share dividend of 40 per cent to shareholders.

Shares of Vietjet (code VJC) rose 0.2 per cent to close at VND131.600 today on the HCM Stock Exchange.

Vietjet recorded revenue of more than VND27.49 trillion in 2016, up 39 per cent year-on-year.

Last year, Vietjet’s pre-tax profit also witnessed a significant yearly rise of 113 per cent to some VND2.5 trillion.

The airline’s total assets reached more than VND20 trillion, surging 67 per cent against the same period last year, while its equity capital rose 120 per cent year-on-year to VND4.73 trillion.

In 2016, Vietjet received 12 new aircraft, increasing its fleet to 41 aircraft including 30 A320 and 11 A321 aircraft. It also transported 14.05 million passengers, an increase of 50.9 per cent compared to 2015.
