ABBANK appoints new general director

The State Bank of Viet Nam approved Cu Anh Tuan to become the new general director of An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBANK).

Tuan will replace former general director Pham Duy Hieu, who resigned for personal reasons, according to officials.

Previously, Tuan was the bank's deputy general director in charge of finance and accounting, law, capital and investment.

Born in 1972, Tuan earned his bachelors and masters degrees in finance and accounting in Australia.

Tuan had earlier been the bank's deputy general director in charge of finance and accounting, law, capital and investment.

With more than 20 years of experience working in the banking sector, Tuan spent 3 years at Techcombank, 4 years at the State Capital Investment Corporation, as well as in other enterprises in Viet Nam.

As of June 2015, ABBANK earned profits of VND179 billion (US$8.02 million) and had total assets of VND65.6 trillion ($2.94 billion).
