Dai-ichi Life Vietnam wins Asia CSR Award again

Surpassing more than 200 other life insurers from Asia, wholly Japan-owned Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company of Vietnam has just received the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the Asia Insurance Industry Awards 2015, organised by Asia Insurance Review- a prestigious insurance magazine in Asia.

Dai-ichi Life Vietnam was highly acknowledged and appreciated by the Judging Panel for its significant community project “Million bricks for a happy life” which involves building 10 bridges in Vietnam’s rural areas to facilitate the safe and convenient travelling of local people.

“We are extremely proud of being the only life insurance company in Vietnam and in Asia to win such a prestigious industry accolade in Asia,” said Takashi Fujii, chairman of Dai-ichi Life Vietnam.

“This is the second time we win this award, which means a lot to us and makes my heart touched because it sums up our core corporate values we always aim for. The spirit of making a positive impact on improving the local communities’ lives is truly embraced by everyone in Dai-ichi Life Vietnam,” he added.

The project “Million bricks for a happy life” was initiated by Dai-ichi Life Vietnam on the occasion of celebrating the company’s milestone of serving one million customers in July 2014.

Under this project, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam sponsored VND1 billion ($45,800) and coordinated with the local authorities to build 10 concrete bridges in the rural areas of provinces such as Hau Giang, An Giang, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Quang Binh and Binh Phuoc to benefit more than 20,000 local people.

After eight years of operations in Vietnam, the company is currently named among the country's top five life insurance companies in terms of total premium market share, serving more than one million Vietnamese customers through nearly 700 staff and 46,000 financial consultants.

The Asia Insurance Industry Awards, now in their 19th year, aims to recognise and honour excellence in the insurance industry across the region.
