HCM City approves construction of observation tower complex

HCM City's People's Committee on June 30 awarded an investment certificate to Empire City Limited Liability Company to implement the construction of an observation tower complex.

The project, located in Thu Thiem new urban area, has a total investment of US$1.2 billion.

Covering an area of 14.5 hectares, it includes a high-class commercial centre, a five-star hotel, apartments, offices and an 86-storey building.

Speaking at the award ceremony, CEO Vo Sy Nhan said the firm was exerting its best effort to complete the legal procedures to commence construction in the fourth quarter of this year. He also expressed his expectations of completing the project in 2022.

Nguyen Huu Tin, vice chairman of the People's Committee, said that awarding the investment certificate for the complex would contribute to perfecting the infrastructure of the new urban area. He asked departments and governmental agencies to support the investor so that the company could implement the project soon.

Tin also expected that local and international investors would add to the existing research and consider investing in the new urban area.

Empire City Limited Liability Company is a joint venture between Tien Phuoc Company Limited, Tran Thai Group of Viet Nam and Denver Power Ltd of Hong Kong-based private equity firm Gaw Capital Partners.
