Dong Thap women to benefit from credit consultancy

Hundreds of women in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Dong Thap's Tan Hong District will benefit from a training programme on credit, to be held next Friday by the local women's association, Home Credit Viet Nam and Viet Nam Women newspaper.

At the conference, women aged 25 to 40 will have a chance to talk to professors about general credit information, including how to get a loan from trusted sources.

A similar programme organised in the northern province of Thai Binh attracted 150 local women, who found it helpful for their lives.

Vuong Thuy Tien, a high-ranking official from Home Credit Viet Nam, said her company was focusing more on helping consumers learn more about credit.

The aim is to give local woman experience in balancing their income and purchases and keeping notes on their spending for their families.

In 2013 and 2014, Home Credit co-operated with the Viet Nam Standards and Consumers Association to organise a programme to offer consultations to 5,000 customers on how to find trusted sources of loans.
