Wind-power plant to be built in Tra Vinh

The Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh has licensed a project to build a wind power plant with a capacity of 48MW in the first phase.

The project has an investment of VND2.4 trillion (US$112 million) and is slated to generate electricity to the national grid as from September 2017, according to Director of the provincial Economic Zones Management Board Le Tan Luc.

The plant will have 24 turbines, which will span over 1,200 hectares of land and water surface in Truong Long Hoa and Dan Thanh communes in Duyen Hai district.

The project is made in line with the provincial plan to develop alternative power supply sources from 2011-2015.
