Vingroup wins double awards with Hanoi property

Vingroup, the Vietnamese property conglomerate behind many deluxe trade centers and residential developments, has been honored in two categories of the prestigious International Property Awards 2015.

The Hanoi-based firm, which is Vietnam's largest listed real estate developer, was selected as winner of the “Best Mixed-Used Development Vietnam” with Times City Urban Area, and the “Best Retail Development Vietnam” with Vincom Mega Mall Times City.

These are among the most honorable categories of the Asia Pacific Property Awards, which are part of the International Property Awards, Vingroup said on its website on Saturday.

The “Best Retail Development” category recognizes property projects that meet a number of strict requirements in terms of architecture, planning, and environmental protection, while representing innovative design and offering effective services and features.

The 36-hectare Times City, located in Hanoi’s Hai Ba Trung District, features a deluxe apartment system, a trade center (Vincom Mega Mall Times City), an international hospital, and many five-star services, according to Vingroup.

The 200,000-square-meter Vincom Mega Mall Times City is one of the most outstanding components at Times City. The property also includes an entertainment-cuisine complex and Vietnam’s largest aquarium.

Vingroup, chaired by Pham Nhat Vuong, the only Vietnamese representative in the 2015 Forbes Billionaire List with a net worth of US$1.7 billion, has so far been honored five times with the International Property Awards.

In 2012 the group’s Vinhomes Riverside, an urban area situated along the Red River in the Vietnamese capital, was named winner of the “Best Mixed-Used Development Asia Pacific” category.

Last year, its Vincom Mega Mall Royal City, also in the capital city, won the “Best Retail Development Vietnam” category, and the Royal City Urban Area was the “highly recommended” property in the “Mixed-Used Development Vietnam” category.

The International Property Awards, given away annually by the UK-based International Property Media Ltd., are open to residential and commercial property professionals from around the globe, according to the firm’s website.

The awards celebrate the highest levels of achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry, and an International Property Award is thus a world-renowned mark of excellence.

They are split into regions covering Africa, Asia Pacific, Arabia, Canada, Caribbean, Central & South America, Europe, the UK, and the U.S.

Participants are judged by a highly experienced team of professionals who cover the whole range of property disciplines.

Companies selected as winners are then invited to attend a glittering awards dinner for each region and have the right to use the prestigious logo in their marketing.
