Stock markets end higher

The national stock markets ended in the green this morning.

 

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index gained 0.1 per cent to close at 589.03 points. The total trading volume increased to touch 60.9 million shares, worth nearly VND960 billion (US$45.7 million).

The VN30 Index, tracking the performance of 30 large-cap stocks, ended the session at 620.91 points with a total trading volume of 35.2 million shares, worth nearly VND592 billion ($28 million).

The largest shares also improved their performance, with eight codes advancing and ten remaining unchanged, while the number of losers was halved to 12.

The Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (VNM) again achieved the maximum increase in stock price, while the FLC Group Joint Stock Company (FLC) topped the southern market, trading nearly 21.5 million of its shares for a total value of VND247 billion ($11.8 million).

However, the southern market saw the fall of the VNMID Index and the VNSML Index, which track the performance of mid-cap and small-cap stocks respectively. The mid-cap index was down 0.09 per cent and the small-cap index fell by 0.25 per cent.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed the morning session at 85.98 points, up 0.09 per cent.

The trading value reached more than VND306 billion ($14.5 million), as investors exchanged more than 23.3 million shares.

The top 30 stocks on the northern bourse also sent the HNX30 Index up by 0.35 per cent to close at 165.96 points.
