Joint Development Bank opens service units in Bokeo, Luang Namtha

The Joint Development Bank (JDB) is continuing to branch out, opening new service u nits in Luang Namtha province and Houyxai district of Bokeo province.

The re cent openings come following the commissioning of a unit in Oudomxay province in October.

The new s

ervice units are part of JDB's strategy to expand its operations and extend fast, efficient and reliable financial services to customers in northern provinces.

The two official opening ceremonies were attended by Bokeo provincial Governor Mr Khamman Sounvileut, Deputy Luang N amtha provincial Governor Mr Phanthong Phidthoumma and Director of the Joint Development Bank Mr Sounthorn Chanthavong.

Both cerem onies were witnessed by representatives of the Bank of the Lao PDR.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Sounthorn said the bank has seen successes grow from its previously opened units.

He put this down to strong support by both the state and private sectors and trust of members of the public who hold the bank in high esteem.

He said the new service unit was part of the bank's strategy to offer its clientele better services and greater convenience.

The bank continues to expand its service units as its business grows.
At present JDB has its head office in Vientiane. It has a further two units in Vientiane, the first near That Luang and another in Sikhai village.

It also has service units in Luang Prabang, Vangvieng, Pakxe, Thakhek, Savannakhet and Pakxan in Borikhamxay province, Tonpheung in Bokeo province, Lao Bao, Xeno, and booths at Savan Vegas in Savannakhet, Xayaboury, Oudomxay and the two latest units in Houyxai and Luang Namtha.

Soon, the bank also plans to further expand its services to the provinces of Huaphan and Xieng Khuang.

The bank will continue to have its experienced staff supply financial services for businesspeople both at home and overseas through reliable, convenient and trustworthy banking services.

During the official opening ceremony in Houyxai, the bank presented 50 million kip to support a project on poverty improvement for ethnic children from poor families in remote areas in Bokeo.

At the Luang Namtha launch President of the JDB Management Board Mr Ekkaphan Phaphithak presented 50 million kip for “three builds directive's Pilot Project” works in the province.

The bank also offered lucky draw prizes to the value of 53 million kip e ach at both Houyxai and Luang Namtha to thank its customers.
