Sacombank is Viet Nam's favourite e-bank in 2014

Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) was adjudged Viet Nam's favourite e-bank at the MyEbank 2014 awarding ceremony in Ha Noi on November 19.

Vnexpress online newspaper organised the voting among its readers, with sponsorship from the State Bank of Vietnam and professional mentoring from Smartlink Card Joint Stock Company.

Readers voted on myebank.vnexpress.net for their favourite banks from October 6 to November 2. The four-week voting attracted the participation of more than two million readers or 20 per cent of Internet and mobile banking users in Viet Nam.

The organising board gave the award for favourite mobile banking service to five banks: TienPhong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank), Sacombank and Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), as well as Maritime Bank and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank).

The award for favourite Internet Banking Service likewise went to five banks: Vietcombank, Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank), Sacombank, Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) and TPBank.

A majority of customers selected the country's top five banks: Sacombank, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and Vietinbank, as well as Maritime Bank and Techcombank.

This is the first time Vnexpress organised the voting, which aimed to honour banks that provide the best e-banking service in Viet Nam every year and create a fair competitive environment among the banks.
