Binh Dinh clears land for Vingroup project

The Binh Dinh People's Committee has handled more than 80 per cent of the land clearance for Vingroup, the investor of the Vinpearl Quy Nhon project.

According to the provincial committee, the management board of the Binh Dinh Economic Zone has completed the site clearance of 527.45ha of land, adding that they expect to hand over 100 per cent of the land to the investor by December 15 this year. Vinpearl Quy Nhon will be the province's largest tourist area.

In 2013, Vingroup kicked off the VND3.5-trillion (US$166-million) resort project, which spans an area of 656ha in Hai Giang village, Nhon Hai commune, Quy Nhon City. It is designed to be an eco-tourism site that will have a five-star hotel, villas with commercial services and sports centre and a cable-car system, besides an 18-hole golf course.

The 1.5km-long cable-car system is being built in Quy Nhon City, from Mui Tan to the Phuong Mai peninsula. It is expected to become operational in 2017.

The Linh Son Pagoda will be rebuilt on a new site in the Nhon Phuoc Resettlement Zone.

Quy Nhon is a central-coastal region, located between the popular cities of Nha Trang and Hoi An, but having fewer industries and less traffic. The city is known for its beautiful surroundings such as the Cham temples and beaches.

According to travel site vietnamtravels.com, the city is perfect for those who want to break-journey between Nha Trang and Hoi An, which are about six hours apart in terms of travel time. Quy Nhon is surrounded by green mountains on three sides and the ocean on the fourth. Nestled in a bay, the city is protected from the worst hurricanes that batter the coast further north.

Meanwhile, according to a solo traveller, Hai Giang, where VinPearl Quy Nhon is located, is a beautiful small fishing village on the foothills of the Phuong Mai Peninsula.

The first phase of the VinPearl Quy Nhon project is expected to be ready in 2015, while all construction will be completed in 2017.
