Rice export revenues reach $2.1 billion

Viet Nam has exported 4.9 million tonnes of rice worth US$2.1 billion so far this year.

Viet Nam Food Association said rice cost $458.35 per tonne in October, a slight increase from September's $439.11 per tonne.

Viet Nam expects to produce 25.48 million tonnes of paddy in 2014, of which more than 17 million tonnes – or 8.5 tonnes of rice – will be exported.
