Pepper one of VN's hottest exports

Pepper exports are showing rapid growth, affirming the product's leading position in the global market as many Vietnamese agricultural export items falter.

Vietnamese pepper export earnings exceeded US$1 billion by the middle of September and will likely reach $1.3 billion by the end of the year. The US continued to be Viet Nam's largest pepper buyer, followed by Singapore, the UAE, India and the Netherlands.

Major pepper exporting countries like India and Indonesia reduced their production by 15-20 per cent recently, providing opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to fill the resulting gap in supply, according to the International Pepper Community (IPC).
