Vietcombank to fund $495.24m road project in Thanh Hoa

Vietcombank will be funding a VND10.4-trillion (US$495.24-million) road project in the central city of Thanh Hoa that connects Tho Xuan air terminal to Nghi Son Economic Zone.

The Ministry of National Defence's Corporation 319, Central Region Construction Investment and Trading Corporation and Cuong Thinh Thi Construction Investment Corporation began project construction work last August 29.

"We will take full responsibility for arranging and disbursing capital in conformity with the signed contract to ensure the project's progress," the Vietcombank general director said in a statement.

Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai said the project would fortify the links between the industrial zones of Thanh Hoa and foster a change in the economic structure of Viet Nam's north-central region.

The road aims to help attract more investors to the province, as Nghi Son Economic Zone is one of the few areas in the region where a deep-water port can be built for large-scale industrial development.
