Nghe An has 10.6% jump in industrial index

The index of industrial production (IIP) of central Nghe An province was expected to record a year-on-year increase of 10.6 per cent in the first nine months of 2014, according to the provincial People's Committee.

Growth was registered in the fields of mining (0.9 per cent), processing and manufacturing (12 per cent), electricity and gas (3.9 per cent) and water supply (9.9 per cent).

High consumption of milk, sugar, clothes and bricks also contributed to the IIP rise.

To boost industrial production, local authorities are helping businesses find consumption markets and step up import-export activities, in addition to popularising the campaign "Vietnamese prioritise using Vietnamese goods".

The province is also encouraging enterprises to stabilise prices and prevent trade fraud.
