Joint Development Bank opens service unit in Borikhamxay

The Joint Development Bank (JDB) recently opened a new service unit in Pakxan district, Borikhamxay province in response to business growth in the area, ensuring that local people will be able to access financial services.

According to bank representatives, the new service unit aims to offer people convenience and provide them with fast, efficient and reliable services.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Borikhamxay Governor, Mr Parn Noimany and Director of the Joint Development Bank, Mr Soonthon Chanthavong, witnessed by representatives of Bank of the Lao PDR.

Mr Soonthon said at the ceremony that JDB service units have continued to grow and provide assistance to both the state and private sectors and are trusted by members of the public, who hold the bank in high esteem.

As JDB's customer numbers continue to grow, the bank plans to further improve its technology systems and offer even greater convenience to its clientele.

Joint Development Bank offers customers the convenience of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) services and one card can access up to four personal accounts if customers wish to exercise that option.

Customers can also access banking services via their mobile phone, including checking their account balance, transferring money and paying water and electricity bills.

The bank plans to use E-Banking and I-Banking services for transferring mo ney as well as making product payments, meaning that customers can have access to convenient banking services at all hours of the day and night.

At present the Joint Development Bank has its Head Office in Vientiane and has expanded its service units to 13 including two units in the capital Vientiane – one at Thatluang and another in Sikhai village.

It also has service units in Vangvieng, Luang Prabang, Pakxe, Thakhek, Savanakhet, Tonphueng, and Houyxai districts of Bokeo province, Xayaboury, Oudomxay, Luang Namtha, and the latest unit in Pakxan.

This year, the bank also plans to further expand its service units to the provinces of Huaphan and Xieng Khuang, as well as opening new units in Lao Bao of Borikhamxay, Xeno in Savannakhet, and the villages of Dongdok, Xangkhou , and Nongniew in Vientiane.

The bank plans to continue rolling out its services in both the north and south of Laos, offering reliable, convenient and trustworthy banking services to new and existing customers.

During the official opening ceremony in Pakxan, Joint Development Bank issued lucky door prizes to the value of 100 million kip for its customers under the project “Don't buy lottery, you can be rich.”
