Vietnam private carrier launches nonstop service between Hanoi and Seoul
VietJet Air inaugurated Thursday nonstop flights between Hanoi and Seoul, marking the 27th service of the private and budget carrier.
The new service will operate daily from the Vietnamese capital city to its South Korean counterpart starting July 24.
The flight departs from Hanoi at 1:45 am and arrives in Seoul at 7:55 am local time. The return service leaves South Korea at 11:05 am local and lands at 2:10 pm.
VietJet Air is offering 2,520 seats per week for the new service, whose expected flying time is around five hours, the airline said.
The new Hanoi – Seoul service is welcomed by passengers and tour organizers, it added.
VietJet Air currently offers service on 27 domestic and international air routes. The low-cost airline seeks to increase the flying frequency for its domestic services and have broader expansion in the Pacific Asia region, according to its business plan.
On Tuesday, VietJet Air also inaugurated a new domestic service connecting the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho and the central coastal city of Da Nang.
The budget carrier is the only airline to offer service between the two cities. There will be three round trips on the new air route per week, using a 180-seat Airbus A320-200 aircraft, according to VietJet Air.
VietJet Air has recently been hit by a scandal after one of its flights landed at the wrong airport. The airline and nine relevant aviation employees have been fined for their negligence leading to the incident.
