US-based company builds second factory

Amway Viet Nam Co. Ltd., a multi-level marketing enterprise,has started construction on its second Viet Nam factory in the southern province of Binh Duong last week.

The $25 million factory will produce vitamins, supplements, functional food and body-care products and covers nearly 55,000sq m in Viet Nam-Singapore Industrial Park 2, an area nearly seven times larger than Amway's first factory.

The first factory, built in Binh Duong's neighbouring province of Dong Nai in 2007, stretches over 8,000 square metres and produces $30 million worth of products a year.
