Viet Nam-Singapore trade increases to $13b

The two-way trade between Viet Nam and Singapore increased to US$13.11 billion in 2013, 10.7 per cent higher from a year earlier, according to the Singapore Department of Statistics.

During the reviewed period, Viet Nam exported $3 billion worth of goods to Singapore, an annual increase of 36.5 per cent, while its imports rose 5.1 per cent to $10.74 billion.

Among Viet Nam's main exports to Singapore are machinery, equipment and spare parts ($477 million), telephones and components ($468 million) and crude oil ($295 million).

The Trade Office at the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore forecast bilateral trade would continue to expand this year.
