FPT Group appoints new CEO

July 31, the Board of Directors of the FPT Corporation passed a resolution to appoint Mr. Bui Quang Ngoc, PhD in databases, as the CEO of FPT Group, replacing Mr. Truong Gia Binh.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh, FPT Chairman, said: "The appointment of the new CEO is to separate the position of the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the CEO in modern governance standards and enhance operational efficiency of the company. The Board of Directors has decided to choose one who has deep understanding of FPT, management and organization ability like Mr. Bui Quang Ngoc to assume the position."

Ngoc is one of the founding members and currently Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Internal Control Committee of the FPT Group. In recent years, Ngoc did not run any subsidiary company.

Ngoc was the first head of the IT Division of FPT, the predecessor of the important firms such as FPT IS, FPT Software, FPT Telecom and FPT Trading. Holding many important positions in FPT in the last 25 years, he is also one of the 13 founders of FPT and is considered one of the best managers of FPT.

Born on 12/03/1956, a native of Hai Hung Province, Ngoc studied in the same high school with Truong Gia Binh, graduated in Mathematics at the Kishinhov University (Republic of Moldova) in 1979 and got a PhD degree of database at the University of Grenoble (France) in 1986.

Ngoc currently hold nearly 10.2 million FPT shares, equivalent to 3.7 percent of outstanding shares, worth about VND337 billion ($16.5 million) (based on the price for FPT shares on July 31, 2013).
